Twilight Nation & ReverbNation

In collaboration with Val Gamiero, I composed the underscore to “Twilight Nation” a TV pilot script which was performed live on stage as part of the Stage-to-Screen project. A sampler of a number of the cues used for the project, and a couple stand-alones “Ambushed” and “Saloon Song,” are available to listen to. Also, I uploaded two new short pieces “Gloria” and “Open Air,” which have been inspired by other projects currently in the works, but are not directly tied to anything in particular.

I’ve also created a profile on ReverbNation and added these new cues to that as well. The player from ReverbNation is great and helps keep things consolidated.

A Demo Reel!

This Monday we had a special Composer’s night at the Austin Film Meet, discussing our work and style, and taking questions from the group. In preparation for the evening, I put together a compilation of some of my scoring highlights, something I hadn’t taken the time to do yet, and now… I have a demo reel! You can hear it from clicking play on the player for “SamplerMaster.”

Embracing Flash and Other News

After being turned onto the WiX website creation interface, I’ve now coverted my site over to their ever-so sleak flash format. I hope you enjoy all the little changes to the site. Overall the content remains essentially the same.

Things have been picking up a bit among my newfound friends at the Austin Film Meet. Several smaller projects or requests for cues are in the works. Of course, dealing with a new puppy has been a handful over the past month. Now that Woody’s becoming a bit more managable, I’ll be able to start cranking out some new toons very soon.

Getting to know Austin

I’ve become a regular to the Austin Film Meet weekly gathering on Monday nights. It’s a lot of fun, with a big group of people involved in indie films: directors, actors, crew members, producers, and a few other composers. It’s really nice having a group like that to hang out with. They’re all good people, working cooperatively for getting projects done. It’s a great vibe.

I’ve added some poster art to the catalogue page, just a couple things I nabbed from Van’s site. They’re pretty nifty.

Finally settling in

After much toil things are finally starting to settle down! We’re moved into our new home and in the process of unpacking…which I imagine we’ll be at for some time. It was a long road to get here, but I had faith we’d make it, so it wasn’t as stressful as it could have been, I suppose.

I’m tidying up a few cues for Van’s “Natural Order of Things” as he’s been trying to shave a few minutes off the movie. Then he’s off to help with the Olympics once again. Best of luck to him!

Once I’ve got my studio up and running again I’ll begin networking the Austin film/game scene, and I’m looking forward to getting to spend more time composing now that my day-to-day work obligations aren’t as consuming as they were in Cincinnati. Here’s to new friends and new adventures in 2010!
